Application Instructions, 2009
 

Applicants should submit five hard copies of their completed applications. Emailed or faxed applications will not be accepted. Applications should include the following:

_____Cover Sheet. The cover sheet should include the project title, time period, and total requested cost; contact information for the investigator(s); a designation of principal investigator status for one investigator if the project involves two or more individuals; and contact information for the PI's sponsored research office and authorized signature of the university's signing official.

_____Abstract. Provide a one-page summary of the project, including the research goals, background and significance, and the approach.

_____Research Proposal. Applicants should prepare a research proposal (12 point font; double-spaced; 10 pages maximum, excluding references and tables) that describes their specific aims for their proposed research project; the background and significance of the project; any preliminary studies or prior relevant research conducted by applicant; the data, methods, and research design of the project; and a project timeline for completion over the grant period.

_____Budget. Include a detailed budget showing how the applicant will spend up to $20,000 over the one year grant period as well as a budget narrative justifying each item. The budget must include adequate funds to cover travel expenses to attend the grantee conference at BGSU in April 2010.

_____Curriculum Vitae. Include a cv for each investigator.

_____Human Subjects Approval. The applicant must provide documentation that the proposed project has been reviewed and approved by the applicant's institutional review board (or that the approval process has been initiated with the applicant's institution). In addition, proof of human subjects training must be provided by applicant.
